{"id":6030,"date":"2025-10-20T18:56:42","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T13:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pkfin.kotenterprises.dev\/?p=6030"},"modified":"2025-10-20T19:28:31","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T14:28:31","slug":"pakistan-to-launch-ai-platform-for-women-entrepreneurs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkfin.kotenterprises.dev\/?p=6030","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan to launch AI Platform for Women Entrepreneurs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-highlight\">\n<ul>\n<li>PM says Pakistan\u2019s industrial growth depends on development of small and household industries<\/li>\n<li>New AI-based \u201cWomenpreneurship Platform\u201d to guide women on business registration, taxes and skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<p>ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday directed authorities to set a clear timeline for implementing reforms for small and medium-sized industries and accelerate work on an AI-driven platform to support women entrepreneurs, his office said.<\/p>\n<p>Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan constitute over 90 percent of business establishments and are estimated to contribute around 40 percent of the country\u2019s gross domestic product (GDP) and roughly 25 percent of exports, while employing as much as 78 percent of the non-agricultural labor force.<\/p>\n<p>Access to finance, however, remains a significant barrier in the Pakistani SME sector. According to a recent policy briefing, only 6-7 percent of private-sector credit is extended to SMEs.<\/p>\n<p>Economists say growth in the SME sector is critical for expanding exports, processing agricultural goods and creating jobs in a country facing slow manufacturing expansion and limited credit access for small producers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan\u2019s industrial development depends on the growth of household, small and medium-sized industries,\u201d the prime minister said after he chaired a meeting on SMEs. \u201cIn developed countries, SMEs provide raw materials to large industries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sharif also called for steps to enhance women\u2019s participation in small and medium-sized industries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo encourage women\u2019s participation in the SME sector, a Womenpreneurship Platform based on artificial intelligence is being established,\u201d the statement from Sharif\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis platform will provide comprehensive information to women regarding business sectors, as well as guidance on registration, tax matters, and skill awareness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A roadmap was also presented to integrate SMEs into the formal economy.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the prime minister also directed that registration of household industries be encouraged to help them obtain business loans more easily, and instructed officials to ensure the earliest implementation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/smeda.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA)<\/a> roadmap.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PM says Pakistan&rsquo;s industrial growth depends on development of small and household industries New AI-based &ldquo;Womenpreneurship Platform&rdquo; to guide women on business registration, taxes and skills ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday directed authorities to set a clear timeline for implementing reforms for small and medium-sized industries and accelerate work on an AI-driven platform [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":6033,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_uf_show_specific_survey":0,"_uf_disable_surveys":false,"_FSMCFIC_featured_image_caption":"","_FSMCFIC_featured_image_nocaption":"","_FSMCFIC_featured_image_hide":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post","format-standard"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.9 -
