Built on the global <strong data-start=\"541\" data-end=\"573\">ISO 20022 messaging standard<\/strong>, the system introduces advanced tools and services that align Pakistan\u2019s payments ecosystem with international best practices.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"704\" data-end=\"749\">The system consists of two core components:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"1027\">\n<li data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"874\">\n<p data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"874\"><strong data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"790\">Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS):<\/strong> Enables faster and more secure large-value payments among financial institutions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"1027\">\n<p data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"1027\"><strong data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"917\">Central Securities Depository (CSD):<\/strong> Provides comprehensive management of <a href=\"https:\/\/pkfin.kotenterprises.dev\/2025\/06\/24\/sbp-shifts-government-securities-auctions-to-prism-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">government securities<\/a>, including T-Bills, PIBs, and other instruments.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1029\" data-end=\"1284\">According to SBP, PRISM+ will allow <strong data-start=\"1065\" data-end=\"1106\">real-time transfers of large payments<\/strong>, scheduling of payments for future dates, priority-based settlements, live dashboards for monitoring balances and transactions, and automated calculation of fees and invoices.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"1574\">The <strong data-start=\"1290\" data-end=\"1297\">CSD<\/strong> will streamline government bond transactions by facilitating real-time bidding in primary auctions, efficient trading in secondary markets, and better collateral management. It also supports SBP\u2019s open market operations, enabling instant liquidity injections or withdrawals.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1906\">PRISM+ further enhances transparency and security with <strong data-start=\"1631\" data-end=\"1702\">full audit trails, role-based access controls, and real-time alerts<\/strong> to participants. It also introduces <strong data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"1766\">liquidity-saving queues<\/strong>, intraday liquidity facilities, and the ability for banks to earmark reserves for critical systems such as Raast, 1Link, NIFT, and NCCPL.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1908\" data-end=\"2116\">Other key improvements include extended operating hours, instant handling of payment cancellations or returns, and options for <a href=\"https:\/\/pkfin.kotenterprises.dev\/2024\/07\/30\/touchpoint-and-faysal-bank-sign-agreement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">cash deposits<\/a> or withdrawals at the SBP Karachi office for specific operations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2419\">The central bank highlighted that PRISM+ has been developed under its <strong data-start=\"2188\" data-end=\"2203\">Vision 2028<\/strong>, aimed at establishing a modern, inclusive, and robust financial ecosystem in Pakistan.
