{"id":4940,"date":"2025-05-20T13:10:27","date_gmt":"2025-05-20T08:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pkfin.kotenterprises.dev\/?p=4940"},"modified":"2025-05-20T13:10:27","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T08:10:27","slug":"samba-bank-appoints-rashid-jahangir-as-acting-president-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkfin.kotenterprises.dev\/?p=4940","title":{"rendered":"Samba Bank appoints Rashid Jahangir as acting president &#038; CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Board of Directors of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samba.com.pk\/samba\/personal-banking\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samba Bank Limited (SBL)<\/a> has approved the appointment of Rashid Jahangir as acting president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank.<\/p>\n<p>His appointment will be effective from May 22, 2025, \u201ctill the time permanent president &amp; CEO is appointed in due course,\u201d the bank wrote in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.<\/p>\n<p>Before, Jahangir was holding the position of Deputy CEO of Samba Bank.<\/p>\n<p>As per Samba\u2019s latest financial results, the bank posted a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brecorder.com\/news\/40358379\/samba-bank-profit-declines-over-50-yoy-in-jan-mar-2025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">decline of 53%<\/a>\u00a0in its profit-after-tax (PAT) for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, against the profit it made during the same period the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>SBL recorded a PAT of Rs166.85 million in Jan-Mar 2025, against Rs358.68 million in Jan-Mar 2024.<\/p>\n<p>SBL total income declined 10% to Rs1.94 billion in Jan-March 2025 from Rs2.18 billion in the same period last year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Board of Directors of Samba Bank Limited (SBL) has approved the appointment of Rashid Jahangir as acting president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank.
