Instruments like <strong>sukuk, equity funds, and Shariah-compliant investment vehicles<\/strong>, he noted, not only attract investment but also reduce reliance on interest-based borrowing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shariah-Compliant Market Growth in Pakistan<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aurangzeb shared Pakistan\u2019s strides in Islamic finance, revealing that as of June 30, 2024:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>56% of market capitalization<\/strong> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/pkfin.kotenterprises.dev\/pakistan-stock-exchange-psx-marks-listing-of-mahaana-islamic-index-etf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pakistan Stock Exchange<\/a> comprises Shariah-compliant securities.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><strong>48% of mutual funds&#8217; assets<\/strong>, <strong>66% of voluntary pension funds<\/strong>, and <strong>95% of REITs<\/strong> are aligned with Shariah principles.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese figures reflect the significant progress made in aligning the financial system with Shariah principles,\u201d he stated. He reiterated the government\u2019s commitment to developing an economic system that is both faith-compliant and conducive to inclusive, sustainable growth.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mobilizing Resources for Key Sectors<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aurangzeb described Islamic financial instruments as crucial tools for mobilizing resources in critical sectors, including <strong>infrastructure development and poverty alleviation<\/strong>. He expressed confidence that Pakistan has the potential to become a leading global hub for Islamic finance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further noted the rising demand for Shariah-compliant investment products globally, attributing this to a shift towards ethical and sustainable financial systems. \u201cThis demand is contributing to the creation of a comprehensive Islamic finance ecosystem, engaging market participants across various sectors,\u201d he added.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collaborative Efforts for Growth<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Minister called for collective efforts by scholars, financial institutions, regulators, and industry practitioners to overcome challenges, develop innovative Shariah-compliant financial products, and enhance public trust. \u201cIslamic finance must be practical, transparent, and capable of meeting the evolving needs of our people,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Commendation for SECP\u2019s Role<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aurangzeb lauded the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for its initiatives to advance Islamic finance.
