The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)<\/a> has issued a license to E-Processing Systems Private Limited (EPSPL)<\/a><\/strong>, enabling the company to commence commercial operations as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI)<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In its official statement, the central bank highlighted that EPSPL, under this license, will offer e-money wallets<\/strong> to consumers, merchants, and agents. This development brings the total number of EMIs operating commercially in Pakistan to five. The existing players include:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  2. Finja Private Limited<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  3. SadaPay Private Limited<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  4. Akhtar Fuiou Technologies Private Limited<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  5. E-Processing Systems Private Limited<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Upcoming Players in the EMI Space<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Additionally, two EMIs\u2014Wemsol Private Limited<\/strong> and HubPay Private Limited<\/strong>\u2014are currently in pilot operations. Meanwhile, three others, namely:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    • YAP Pakistan Private Limited<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
    • Cerisma Private Limited<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
    • Toko Lab Private Limited<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

      have received in-principle approvals<\/strong> from SBP. These companies are in the process of building the necessary organizational and technological infrastructure to move to pilot operations, the SBP stated.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
