Islamabad, September 25 (APP):<\/em> Jazz<\/a>, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, has strengthened its commitment to promoting digital and financial literacy, economic empowerment, and reducing the digital divide through a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)<\/a>. The collaboration aims to foster inclusive development and sustainable economic growth, leveraging technology-driven solutions to empower marginalized communities.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The MoU was signed by Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, and Dr. Samuel Rizk, UNDP Resident Representative, furthering an already successful partnership between the two organizations. Under this new agreement, Jazz and UNDP will intensify efforts to equip youth, women, and entrepreneurs with essential digital skills, focusing on Pakistan\u2019s underserved communities. The partnership aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting diversity and inclusion in technology and STEM fields, while also engaging the private sector to contribute toward global sustainability efforts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Jazz\u2019s long-standing collaboration with UNDP has already yielded impactful programs, including the Jazz Youth Employment Program and the Women\u2019s Initiative in Social Entrepreneurship (WISE). These initiatives have provided young entrepreneurs and women with the skills needed to tackle societal challenges, foster economic empowerment, and reduce gender disparities in entrepreneurship. This new MoU builds on those successes and may further extend the partnership into new areas of cooperation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Commenting on the partnership, Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, said, “Our collaboration with UNDP aligns with our mission to enhance the lives and livelihoods of Pakistani women and youth through technology. Dr. Samuel Rizk, Resident Representative of UNDP Pakistan, emphasized the importance of private-sector collaboration in advancing sustainable development. He stated, \u201cThis MoU opens new avenues for digital transformation in Pakistan, ensuring that no one is left behind as we work toward a more equitable future for communities with limited or no digital access.”<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In addition to promoting digital and financial literacy, the MoU also aims to enhance digitalization and data analytics in areas such as climate resilience, disaster prevention, early warning systems, poverty reduction, digital democracy, diversity, and social protection.
